Learn how to access and manage external courses through OVIN Learn.

External Courses

Follow these steps to enrol in and complete external courses hosted by third-party providers. 

Enrolling in an external course 

If the course is an external course hosted on another provider’s website: 

  1. Open the course page on OVIN Learn. 
  2. Select “Add to dashboard.” 
  3. A pop-up will confirm you have successfully added the course to your dashboard. 
  4. Selecting “View course” will open a new tab that redirects to the course provider’s website. 

 

NOTE: You do not need to remain logged in to OVIN Learn when accessing the external course. The OVIN Learn platform does not track your progress on external courses. 

Completing an external course 

After completing an external course, you will need to provide a record of completion on the OVIN platform. 

  1. From your personal dashboard, under “Course history,” find the relevant course and select “Mark as complete.” 
  2. A pop-up will ask you to upload a file. This file could be a PDF certificate issued by the external course provider or a screenshot of a completion page. Please include any notes if needed. 
  3. If you do not have a manager, the course will be marked as complete. If you have a manager, the document will be provided to them for approval. This will be labeled “Pending review” in your course history dashboard. Your manager may contact you for additional documents if necessary. 
  4. You will receive a notification when the course completion is approved by your manager.
