What is a micro-credential?
A micro-credential is a certification of learning associated with a specific skill or competency. OVIN Learn provides digestible, short-term upskilling courses for the automotive and mobility workforce, resulting in a digital badge, certificate or other industry-recognized credential.
How are micro-credentials developed?
Micro-credentials are developed in partnership with industry stakeholders, with content provided by accredited Ontario public post-secondary institutions, non-profit organizations and other accredited institutions with demonstrated success in education programs related to automotive and mobility. These micro-credentials give learners the knowledge, skills, training and engagement opportunities needed to excel in a fast-changing sector.
How will this help advance my career?
Industry stakeholders in Ontario’s automotive and mobility ecosystem have stressed the need for more investment in employee learning. This helps close skills gaps, retains employees in a highly competitive labour market and ensures employees have the tools to adapt to new technologies and industry changes.
